A quase totalidade dos vírus era o W32/Netsky.c@MM, ficheiro de 25Kb, quase sempre detectado pelo anti-vírus McAfee. Os e-mails remetentes eram, excepto num caso, completamente desconhecidos. O melhor antídoto é nunca abrir os anexos de e-mails suspeitos!
